Teenagers and Dancehall's Influence

Studies have shown that, violent songs increased feelings of hostility without provocation or threat according to the American Psychological Association.In this case It encourages us to believe that if teenagers are contiously exposed to the violent content found in Dancehall Lyrics that perpetuation of violent acts become more likely in comparison to those that are not exposed to the violent lyrics.Research done by Marc Jackman showed,55 teens who have been exposed to and influenced by the genre, that 87 percent of males and 68 percent of females had engaged in a form of violent behavior.
